GFT has been producing professional pilots since 1992 and as a result use our industry resources to assist our graduates obtain employment should you choose to stay in Canada. Graduates have been hired at EVAS Air, Air Canada, Westjet, Jazz, Swoop, PAL Airlines, PAL Aerospace, Government Air Services (Medevac and Air Tanker), Bearskin Airlines, Thunder Airlines, Wasaya Airlines, Buffalo Airways, and Bombardier Aerospace just to name a few.

Gander Flight Training
Gander Flight Training (GFT) has evolved from modest beginnings since it’s incorporation in 1992. It all started when President/CEO, Patrick White purchased a single engine Cessna 150 and began flight instruction at a small airstrip near the Town of Botwood, located in the Exploits Valley region of the scenic province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. To facilitate growth, GFT relocated to the renowned aviation town of Gander in 1993 where it completed it’s first Air Cadet Flying Scholarship Program sponsored by the Canadian Department of National Defense. GFT operated from both locations for a short period of time. However, it soon became evident that the volume of activity was in Gander and a permanent move was made. Today, GFT is well known as one of the top flight schools in Canada providing Professional Flight Programs.
While GFT always aspires to grow, it has incorporated several international connections directly related to professional flight training. On November 2, 2004 EVAS Air became an official Tier Three Operator for Air Canada. EVAS Air provided scheduled passenger services under Air Canada Express operations for Atlantic Canada utilizing their efficient fleet of Beechcraft 1900D’s.
In January of 2009 Gander Flight Training became the first official Cessna Aircraft Service Center in Atlantic Canada. EVAS group of companies incorporates several operational divisions including professional flight programs, Aircraft Charter, Aviation Management, Aerospace Repair and Overhaul – with certifications in Composite Repair, Aviation Welding, and Sheet Metal Fabrication. There is also a Sales and Service division located in a new, state of the art complex specifically designed to meet all the operational needs.
