Instrument Rating

Most airline companies operate aircraft in operations that require the Instrument Rating. This rating enables pilots to fly aircraft in poor weather conditions where instrument reference is required. GFT offers a Recurrent Instrument Training Program for those pilots that require renewal or have let their instrument rating lapse. A Professional Training Program is available for initial candidates, as well as an accelerated program designed for a quicker pace. This Rating is also part of the GFT integrated Program.

Requirements & Notes

  1. Minimum Age: 17 years old
  2. Aviation Medical: Category 3 or higher
  3. Aviation Licence: Private Pilot Licence or higher

Course Content and Requirements

The most common type of instrument rating acquired is a Group 1 Instrument Rating, which simply means the flight test is conducted on a multi-engine aircraft and the candidate can fly a multi-engine aircraft. The graduate can then fly a multi-engine aircraft in instrument conditions. There are 3 different Instrument Training Programs, in addition to the integrated program, designed to meet the specific needs of each candidate. Each course utilizes the Cessna 172,PA-34-200 Piper Seneca, and our PFC DCX Max Advanced Simulator
